The client’s intended purpose of this concept is to have a space where friends and family can bond and entertain each other. When holding meetings or private discussions, the shoji doors are closed for privacy. The concept style was chosen so that they can enjoy the natural sunlight from the window and enjoy the beautiful scenery. For a simplistic look, they did not opt for storage within the platform as aesthetics was the main priority. They chose to go with Tatami as it completes the Japanese look and concept that they were going for. When they are in their Tatami space, it makes them feel as if they have been transported to a Ryokan in Japan, a place where they can experience the traditional Japanese lifestyle.
