Our clients had been using our Tatami Luxury 4-Fold mattresses (5cm thick) and they enjoyed the support and firmness so much that they brought them to New Zealand when they moved. They decided to have a room specifically for Tatami in their home in New Zealand because they wanted more storage and a comfortable place in their home. They found that Tatami was the perfect solution to their problem so they had their own carpenter do up the woodwork while we provided the Tatami floorboards. The tea room is now a multi-functional room with utilized storage where they can enjoy tea drinking while overviewing the beautiful scenery. It is also used as a guest room when they have friends and family over.

The current family loved the Tatami Concept so much that they contacted us to freshen up their Tatami Living Room Area. The purpose of this space was to have a place that their family can gather together to chill, work and eat, but at the same time, have lots of storage space. Having a hidden table in the middle is also very useful because they can use it for work from home, mahjong, studying, their chill-out area and enjoying movie nights.

Our client's family loved their trip to Japan, and were looking to create a small area in their house where they can spend quality time with each other. The main idea was to create a semi-permanent chill-out area anywhere in their house. The grassy fragrance of our Premium Japanese Igusa also reminded our clients of their trip to Japan! The space is also used for online classes. Being able to remove a piece of tatami to place a table that fits perfectly in that square is what our client enjoys the most.

Our client wanted to create a connection between the outdoor and indoor to make the area feel spacious and welcoming when they step up to the room. Since Tatami is natural, it ties the indoor and outdoor aesthetic while creating a space that is sophisticated without being overly lavish. The space is multi-functional as they can host gatherings, birthday parties and even a safe place for playdates. As the Tatami Floorboard has a medium-hard density, guests can walk around comfortably and sit on the Tatami comfortably.

The purpose of the bay window area was to do activities such as reading while overviewing the scenic view from home. Our client’s friends often come over and are in love with the concept as they can appreciate the view of the calming scenery in a comfortable and cosy place. Our client feels that the bay window corner in the home brings them a sense of peace.
